Things I keep coming back to
Bharatanatyam was a significant part of my life for fourteen years. I loved its discipline: repeating the same movement until it was right, then practising until it was better.
After dislocating my knee and learning that I have hypermobility syndrome, I had to stop for a while and go through physical therapy. I eventually returned to practice. It is not as fully active as it once was, but I still work on it.
I started playing chess at a time when girls were not commonly associated with the sport.
I went on to become a three-time state champion, represent my state at the national level, and place 13th nationally in the Under-7 category.
I have played almost every kind of game: combat, strategy, co-op, story-driven and open-world.
What I enjoy most is working things out. Every game asks for a different approach, patience when something isn't working, and the persistence to keep going until it does.
And if I'm playing a game, I'm probably going for the platinum trophy. It is also one of my favourite ways to spend time with my husband, who loves gaming too.
